03 Feb Cholla Bay Sportsmen Club Golf Tournament raises $720 for Charity
The weather was perfect for the 1st Cholla Bay Sportsman Club Golf Tournament. 32 golfers fielded the Las Palomas Golf Course to take Tiger Woods place as top golfer in Puerto Penasco. A few built their “bravado” with a Bloody Mary’s, while others loaded up on those other “refreshments” for the battle.
To say the greens were “fast” would be an understatement, but as the foursomes settled in, they showed their true golfing experience. At the end of the day the battle was over, the course looked like the Battle of Gettysburg, with sand dabs littering the fairway were perfect shots launched.
In the clubhouse, the players awaited for the tally as they had tacos and beer. The last player straggled in with their scorecard and then the results:

Finally, I want to thank Rhea Dugan, her sister from Minnesota, Carol Canfield, and Billy Carnes, for helping in the sign-in and taking all the pictures on the course. Also, Ron, Jack, and John at Las Palomas who put up with us for the day. Finally, Joe Anacletto for helping in putting the event together. Nice to know that he is always there to help the Club and community. We raised $720.00 to help La Montana Escuela Especial in Puerto Penasco.
