09 Dec Nancy Schmidli – just so you know what’s happening in Cholla
Just so you know what’s happening in Cholla: or fyi,
There will be a Vecinos’ meeting on Sunday, Dec.13th at 9:00 a.m. and an OBSC meeting, following that on Sunday at 11:00. Of course these are both at the clubhouse in Cholla.
Saturday, Dec. 19th is the day of the Christmas Party for the Mexican Children. That will begin at 11:00 a.m. It is a fun party and if you are in Cholla please stop by and enjoy the activity, or possibly, if needed you can help!
That evening, Sat, Dec. 19th, beginning at 6:00 p.m. there will be a pot luck dinner. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to come. Ham, wine and beer, lemonade and iced tea will be provided. So bring a dish to share and come and have a nice pre Christmas evening..
I will have to let you know if there is something planned for Christmas Day for those who will be in The Bay. I heard something about it, but can’t remember what…I’ll let you know.
Don’t forget the OBSC NEW YEAR’S PARTY. That will be Thurs., Dec. 31st. It’s a great place to bring in the New Year, so be sure to get your reservations. ..If you are planning to go to this, email Pat Goodin, firstname.lastname@example.org and reserve your tickets. I think there will be a limit of 120. (I’m sure someone will correct me if I am wrong). The party will start at 8:00p.m. Daniel will be playing for this party…
The New Years Party starts at 7 PM not 8. People can email either Pat Goodin or Shirley at email@example.com. We do need people to make reservations. Cost is $20 for members and $30 for non members. We are not having a regular dinner, but many different kind of hors d’oeuvers all evening. It is an open bar party with champagne at midnight.
There is a raffle going on in Cholla which you probably didn’t realize. It is for 2 certificates, each for $75 for the Sonoran Spa. The benefit is for the Cholla Charity Fund and it’s a great prize. The tickets are $1 each, You can buy tickets at the Cholla Cafe, (there is a can with the notice on the bar there). You don’t have to eat there, you can just stop by to purchase tickets. You can also purchase tickets from me, and I will have them available at the clubhouse during functions. The date for the drawing is Dec.19th and you do not have to be present to win!
Now for sick bay information, as much as I know, anyway;
Pete Peterson is in the hospital. He was having a lot of pain. They have determined that it was from the chemo treatments that he was receiving. He is better now, but very weak. Shirley hopes he will received physical therapy treatments until he can get back on his feet before they send him home. He is scheduled for more chemo treatments, so they will not be in Cholla for some time.. Their home address in Tucson is 1746 E. Copper, Tucson, Az. 85719
Wayne Busfield, who underwent bypass surgery a week ago, is home now and doing very well.
Betty Moore is still in the hospital but doing some better. I’ll have to get an update on her and send it out later.
I now have an address for John Wyatt whose wife, Helen, passed away recently. It is 6528 W. Maura Lane, Glendale, Az. 85306. Their house in Cholla is on the main road just opposite the road that goes down to the beach and launch area.
Jack Straughan has been moved from the hospital to in-patient Hospice care. I guess he will be there for a short time until Gayle can find a suitable care facility for him to go to
Hope you all are having a great pre Christmas season and getting all your shopping done….and Hope to see you all in the Bay, soon!
